This week I got to do some electrical work, redoing some wiring, fixing grounds and some soldering. We had a bus that when you pressed the brake pedal the back up lights would also turn on. So the first step on something like this was to check ground wires and make sure that none of the connections were corroded and to make sure there were no hot wires that were shorted out. After that was done the problem still continued. It was then decided to add a ground wire off of the back up lights to a bolt that has ground wire coming from the brake lights and running lights. This fixed the problem. Somehow the electricity had found an easier way to ground its self out by going through the back up light and causing it to turn on.
This week = 40, total = 356
Hans,
ReplyDeleteI'd like to point out that I enjoy reading your blogs. You have a good balance of visual and text content to back up the visual.
You also have had an excellent internship opportunity and you seem to have made the most of it.
Now, this quarter, we are going TO FIND where that electricity found the ground. By testing. It's going to be fun and informative.
